This year, 74 teams from 25 countries participated to the Sitecore Hackathon 2018. For a third year in a row, I really enjoyed participating to this amazing 24 hours’ community event.

The winners were announced this week during the Sitecore User Group Conference (SUGCON) Europe to which I was attending. I had the surprise to see my entry selected as the best project in the Sitecore JavaScript Services (JSS) category and had the immense honor to be awarded by the organizer Akshay Sura.

Preparation is key for a 24 hours hackathon event. You do not want to lose time on setup or tooling. You want to use those precious hours to code and be creative.

Today is a cheerful day for the Sitecore community. The awaited 2018 MVP awards are unveiled. 329 individuals from all around the world are celebrating with their peers after being awarded the title. I am thankful to be part of this group!

To continue with the habit I started last year, here is my year 2017 in review.

Sitecore User Group Conference (SUGCON) Europe starts in less than a week. The speaker lineup and the presentations are incredible. This is a very good opportunity to meet other community leaders and experienced Sitecore developers.

I’m very excited because it will be the first time I go to this edition. I have been to the North America one in 2015. I will also receive my Sitecore MVP award during the event.

To prepare for the event, I have pre-selected the presentations I will assist.
